Who we are

Cabanga AdServe is the advertising network of Cabanga Africa Group, which publishes twelve business magazine editions. This policy covers the site at ads.cabanga.africa, its sign-up and contact forms, and the banner script that runs on the edition websites. Registered entity: [CLIENT FILLS: registered company name and number]. Information Officer: [CLIENT FILLS: name and contact of the Information Officer].

What we collect when you sign up

Your organisation, contact name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number if you give it, country, campaign name, the web address your banner links to, and the editions, positions and months you choose. When the sign-up is confirmed it receives a campaign reference. Your banner file is collected later, once your invoice is paid.

What we collect when you send an enquiry

Who you are writing as, your name, organisation if you give it, email address, phone or WhatsApp number if you give it, country, subject and message. When you confirm the enquiry with the emailed code it receives a reference.

Why we collect it

To confirm a sign-up or enquiry is yours by emailing you a code, to send your invoice, to collect and check your banner against the specification, to run your banner and report its views and clicks to you, and to answer your enquiry. We do not use your details for anything else and we do not sell them.

Legal basis

We process sign-up details to take the steps you ask for before a contract and to perform it once you sign up, and enquiry details to answer the enquiry you send. Where the Botswana Data Protection Act or South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act applies, this is processing necessary for the conclusion and performance of a contract with you, or with your consent for an enquiry.

What the banner script records on the edition sites

When a banner shows on an article, the script records the campaign, the position, the page address and the time, and whether the banner was viewed or clicked. It records no name, email, device identifier or IP address, and it sets no cookies.

Cookies and analytics

The site sets no cookies of its own. If site analytics are switched on, Google Analytics measures visits and sign-up steps in aggregate with IP anonymisation. Fonts load from Google Fonts.

Who processes it for us

Sign-ups and enquiries are held in Google Workspace: Google Sheets for the record, Google Drive for banner files and Gmail for the emails we send. Banner images you send are published at a link so the edition sites can show them; that is their purpose.

How long we keep it

Campaign records and banner files: [CLIENT FILLS: retention period, for example the campaign term plus five years for accounting]. Raw view and click records: [CLIENT FILLS: retention period for event archives]. Unconfirmed sign-ups and enquiries are never written down and expire within 10 minutes.

Your rights

You can ask to see the details we hold about you, have them corrected, or have them deleted where we no longer need them for the campaign, the enquiry or accounting. You can also object to processing and complain to the Information and Data Protection Commission in Botswana or the Information Regulator in South Africa.
